Heart
The heart is a vital organ located in the chest cavity, responsible for pumping oxygenated blood throughout the body. It is roughly the size of a closed fist and is composed of four chambers: two atria and two ventricles. The heart works tirelessly to ensure that oxygen-rich blood is delivered to all organs and tissues, while simultaneously removing waste products. It is a powerful muscle that contracts and relaxes rhythmically, creating the characteristic heartbeat. The heart is protected by a sac called the pericardium and is connected to blood vessels, such as arteries and veins, which transport blood to and from the heart.
